How It Works

The Apollo Auto-Aligning Beam Detector uses infrared (IR) beam technology to detect smoke particles in the air. The detector head, which functions as transmitter and receiver, projects an IR beam towards a prism reflector mounted on the opposite wall. In regular operation, the beam is reflected to the detector. When smoke partially obstructs the beam, the reduction in received light triggers an alarm signal, ensuring early detection of potential fires.

Automatic Compensation for Building Movement

One of the standout features of the SA7100-100APO is its automatic realignment capability, which continuously adjusts the beam to counteract any shifts caused by building movement, temperature fluctuations, or environmental conditions.   • Addressing: Uses DIP switch configuration (1-7 for XP95/Discovery, 1-8 for Soteria). If two detector heads are connected, Detector 1 appears at the set address, while Detector 2 appears at +14.
  • Wiring: Requires a 2-core fire-rated cable between the controller and detector head.
