The Kidde KF20LL is a 230V Optical Smoke Detector with a Lithium Battery Back-Up from the Kidde Firex range.
The mains-powered detectors are inter-connectable, making them suitable for residential and light commercial environments.
In addition, the new KF20LL also comes complete with a dust compensation and bug screen reducing the inconvenience of nuisance alarms.
The hard-wired units come with a 9V lithium backup battery and can be interconnected with other units from the series to create all-around fire protection within the home, when one alarm senses a fire, all units will sound.
The difference between the KF10LL (Ionisation) and the KF20LL (Optical) is that the ionization smoke alarm detects the smoke in the immediate atmosphere through the chemicals produced by the fire and the optical alarm "see's" the smoke within the atmosphere, both triggering the fire alarm warning.

** The Kidde KF Firex range has superseded the Firex 4000 series, the Kidde 9HI and 9HILLS can be interconnected with the KF range.
The KF range cannot be used on the same base plates as the Firex 4000 and different connector blocks will be required **
